Function
Doug Martin’s painting of a forest landscape compliments the traditional style of the foyer outside the boardroom.  While people wait to go into the boardroom they are enveloped in a pleasant and calm space.

Aesthetics
The Epco art committee was interested in traditional landscape imagery that would meld with the transitional style of their interior architecture.  The scale of this piece makes it both contemporary and traditional.

Site Sensitivity
While this painting inhabits a small room, its scale makes it dramatic and interesting to the eye.  The piece was also especially installed by suspension to avoid damage to the silk covered walls.
