Function
For their new Client Center, Schlumberger wished to purchase works of art that would honor the cultural diversity of their client base, particularly focusing on Asia. Working within their parameters, MKG Art Management recommended this series by a contemporary Chinese artist. It represents graphically drawn Coca-Cola bottles superimposed on collaged calligraphy and traditionally rendered Chinese landscapes. The themes explored in this work function well in the coffee bar environment while addressing the client’s ties to China.

Aesthetics
MKG Art Management recommended these five pieces, in part because their bright colors would enliven the monochromatic and industrial aesthetic of the coffee bar.

Site Sensitivity
MKG Art Management recommended this series of small but colorful pieces to fit on the long and narrow horizontal space with four hanging spot-lights.  Simple black frames were selected to echo the black counter top.
