Function
Skadden Arps wanted to add interest to a very clean and contemporary space in their conference area.  This wall sculpture by Houston artist Paul Fleming communicates sophistication and a willingness to “think outside the box” for this New York based law firm.

Aesthetics
Paul Fleming’s wall sculpture has a biomorphic quality that suggests it is growing and multiplying on the wall.  Each small piece in the sculpture is formed of red hydrocal which reflects the coloration of Skadden Arp’s logo which is repeated throughout the office.

Site Sensitivity
Because this area is heavily used by the firm, the decision was made to commission a sculpture on the wall rather than covering floor space with a traditional sculpture.  The piece occupies two long walls on either side of the main conference room door, thereby unifying the very open and large space.
